Get Along

Various events are organised throughout the year by either the P&F committee or the year groups via the class reps.  These events are publicised via the school newsletter, P&F notices or the school Facebook page.

Annual Events

The school year kicks off with the Welcome Back Sundowner held on the school lawn on a Friday in the first fews week of Term 1.  Families are invited to bring a picnic and catch up with old friends and meet some new ones.

Dad's Camping is also held early in the first term and is a much anticipated and popular event.  In 2021 we had over 50 tents nestled onto our school oval.  Once tents were put up, there was pizza for dinner, followed by popcorn and a movie.  An egg and bacon breakfast is then served in the morning.

Throughout the year morning teas and breakfasts are put on to celebrate the Holy Sacraments and other special days such as Mothers Day, Fathers Day and Grandparents Day.  Each year group is responsible for putting on one of these events.

The Kids Disco is a highly anticipated event that is usually held in Term 3.  This fun filled night is organised by the Year 2 class.

One a year the parents and kids are invited to get dirty sprucing up the school at the Annual Working Bee.  Painting, gardening, staining, and cleaning are the order of the day, with lots of fun and getting to know other parents along the way.  This event is usually held in Term 3.

The year is farewelled with another sundowner on the school oval.  Again ,parents can bring a picnic and enjoy the fellowship of the school community before the school year comes to a close.

Other Events

Your P&F puts on various events that may be every year or every few years.  Here's some information on these events.

Parent Education Nights are usually held once or twice a year and cover a range of topics relevant to the education and parenting of your child.  Topics have included Cyber Safety, Mindfulness, Maths with Dr Paul Swann, and Protective Behaviours.

Some events have a fundraising objective as well as providing a fun day or night out for the Holy Spirit Community.  In 2018, the P&F ran a very successful Quiz Night which raised $23,000 for the refurbishment of the Outdoor Sports Court.  In 2017, a School Fair was run to raised funds for the Creativity Centre and also to celebrate Over 50 Years of education at Holy Spirit.

For the last few years the P&F has run a Cake Stall at the Wembley Downs District Fair.  We have also run Bunnings Sausage sizzles to fundraise for special projects.

Some parents nights are just for good fun and to have a laugh with the school parents.  In 2021,  the P&F organised a 007 James Bond Night where parents dressed up 'to the nines' or came along as their favourite Bond, villain or Bond girl.
