Holy Spirit students participate in various club based sports teams outside of school hours.

KIDSPORT

KidSport enables eligible Western Australian children aged 5-18 years to participate in community sport and recreation by offering them financial assistance towards club fees.  KidSport applications are now available online if you hold a valid Health Care or Pensioner Concession card. Hard copy applications are still available and can be submitted to your Local Government.

What are the eligibility criteria?

  • Applicant must be aged 5-18 years.
  • Applicant must have a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card OR meet one of the four KidSport Financial Exceptions.
  • Applicant’s primary place of residence must be in the local government area they are applying to.

NETBALL

Net-Set-Go.  For Year 1 to 2.  Run at Matthews Netball Centre in Jolimont.  Season of 6 to 7 weeks.  Good introduction to netball skills.

From Year 3, teams are organised, usually on a grade basis.  One training after school per week, with games at Matthews on Saturday morning.

WATERPOLO

Flippaball.  From Year 3, boys and girls.  Games are held at HBF Stadium on Friday evenings (year 3 to 5) and Saturday mornings (year 5 and 6).

NIPPERS

Various clubs – City Beach, Floreat, Scarborough.  City beach details below.

Starting at at 6 (as at 30 Sept). The club usually advertises a registration date and new members have to attend a club on that day for registration.

LITTLE ATHLETICS

UWA Little Athletics trains on Thursday afternoons and competitions on Saturday morning at McGillvray.

Under 7 to Under 17.  The age-group is determined by the age your child is on October 1st.  Children must turn 6 before September 30th to compete.  Registration is online and it is recommended to register on that date as the lists fill up quickly.

AFL FOOTBALL

Marist and West Coast Junior Football Club are associated with Holy Spirit.

Auskick from PP to Year 2.  Auskick runs on Sunday morning from 9am to 10am.

Junior teams from Year 3 to Year 6.  Pre-season for Juniors starts in April, Season runs from May.  Training one days per week.  Games on Sunday mornings.

BASKETBALL

Miniball is played by U8 and U10.  These are amended rules to introduce kids to the sport.  U10 and above can play full rules.  Games played at Bendant Stadium.  Game time vary depending on the club and grade.
